The History of hair by fusion
Fusion started on a whim. I was driving by the plaza…I never even saw it being built. My instant thought was “there needs to be a salon here”. Called the realtor two days later to take a look. That was it, I was sold. I don’t know what I pictured but I had to do this. This was July. By October, I had keys in my hand, plans ready for building, furniture ordered and was completely excited to take this on. All while continuing to work in my at home salon.
December 7, 2007, we opened. Over the years, there have been some changes. We moved over one unit 3 years in. We’ve repainted a few times, changed up the decor and added more stations. Now we have a bright and modern salon.
As a stylist myself, having a salon has given me the drive to learn all that I can. I’ve taken every class Redken has offered, gone to quite a few industry conventions over the years, been a backstage stylist at Toronto and Vancouver Fashion week and have followed a business program designed for salons. I have passed this onto the staff adding in-salon classes as well.
Our staff has grown over the years. You’ll see lots of familiar faces amongst all the new and growing staff. We often hire stylists fresh from school, teaching them all we’ve
We have become a great sisterhood. Constantly learning, constantly growing. Personally and professionally.
